> What is Inquiry Based Coaching (IBC)™?

IBC™ is a recognized and measurable method that supports clients in identifying obstacles and converting them into clear and actionable options.

> What does IBC™ enable us to do?

IBC™ gives us access to new perspectives, perspectives, ways of seeing, options and solutions that we could not even see as a possibility before. As we move beyond our preconceptions about the world, relationships and ourselves and grow, we open ourselves to our absolute best potential.

> How does IBC™ work?

IBC™ has a clear structure, a focus and 5 questions and a common language. The essence of IBC™ is to identify, experience and feel what stands in the way of our best selves! Through self-exploration of your own truth, a unique clarity arises and new, clear action steps become visible and actionable.

> Who is IBC™ suitable for?

IBC™ is suitable for anyone who is open-minded and who wants to fundamentally change their personal and/or professional lives.

IBC™ is simple and easy to use, can be used individually and in groups.

The five Phases of IBC™

First, we clearly identify the issue at hand, and do so honestly. We ask ourselves whether it is a major obstacle (e.g. world events), an external obstacle (e.g. family, partner, work colleagues) or an internal obstacle (e.g. our self-perception). This is a very important step in this process. Given that we take much of our inner distraction and confusion for granted, it is paramount to the process that we allow ourselves to perceive and recognize our obstacles as such. Many of us have adopted an “ALL OK” mentality in order to live in this world, when in reality the stress and anxiety of life is maintained behind the facade.

Second, we clearly examine a personal or organizational obstacle that stands in the way of our development and success to understand how it manifests itself for us or our organization. At this stage we can also see the depth and complexity of its manifestation.

Third, we examine the impact that our own validation and holding on to this obstacle actually has on our lives. What manifests itself from validating this obstacle? How do I give up my best, creative, committed self? How do I freeze, overreact, or run away? Who do I “transform” into in my mind when I affirm the obstacle as real and impenetrable? Who do I transform others into in my mind when I judge the obstacle as real and impenetrable?

Fourth: insight, creativity and understanding can make our life or the culture of our organization recognizable beyond our hardened, sometimes negative perception of the obstacle at hand, in order to enable new, clear, powerful and tangible insights.

Fifth: take action. What’s next? How? When? With whom? What are the clear, obvious, natural next steps that you or your organization must take after realizing the above steps? Accountability, consistency, and engagement emerge as fully managed natural next steps that will infuse our lives and organizations with meaning and purpose, understanding and clarity, honest communication, and more importantly, results.
